Your Vow Renewal

couple celebrating their enduring marriage with a vow renewal

I still do

There are many reasons why you should celebrate your lasting marriage or partnership.

To mark a big anniversary. To celebrate how you've worked as a couple to get through a difficult time. To enjoy the ceremony you didn't get or thank the people who weren't there the first time around. Or just because it feels the right time!

Whatever your reason for your vow renewal, saying 'I still do' is just as important as saying 'I do'.

Come together and let's celebrate!

It's time to bring your friends and family together to celebrate your love in a place that you love.

A vow renewal, celebration of love, anniversary ceremony - however you want to refer to it - can happen wherever you wish. You can go back to where it all began, have it somewhere full of joyful memories, or recommit to each other in your beloved back garden.

Let's have fun reflecting on your life together

However you want to do it, let's have fun reflecting on your marriage, exploring your future together and capturing the joys, the tears and even the surprises, that have got you to where you are now.

I'm ready to use my skills and experience to craft an original script that captures the essence of who you are and deliver a vow renewal ceremony that lives in the memory for years to come.

Working together

  • Let’s see if we click…

It starts with with what I call a ‘Discovery Call.’ This is an informal, no obligation chat to get to know each other. I learn a little about your plans and you ask all the questions you want to ask me.

  • Making it official

Once we know the chemistry is there and you decide you’d like me as your vow renewal celebrant, you pay 50% of the ceremony cost to confirm your booking.

As a celebrant, I only conduct one ceremony per day. So once you’ve paid the deposit and completed the clear, straightforward contract, I’m all yours. Diary closed, no further bookings on your big day!

  • It’s quiz time!

I’ll likely recommend you both complete my special ‘Couple’s Quiz’. Nothing heavy, this just acts as a way for us to start discussing what you might like to include in your ceremony.

The couples I work with tell me that the quiz is fun to do, especially with a glass of their favourite poison in their hand! They often decide to complete it separately, so they can enjoy the surprise of discovering each other’s responses.

  • Let's get together

Next we meet up, in person ideally or online if it's easier for you. We’ll discuss your quiz answers, your life together and your vision for your ceremony.

We can chat about the words, the music, the readings and the symbolic elements you may want to include. Not sure what you want? Not to worry. I’ll bring the guidance, knowledge and inspiration you need to create the vibe you're looking for.

  • Getting to work

By now I’ll be buzzing to get to work on your script! I’ll hide myself away in my office, armed with all the information we’ve discussed…and a bowlful of snacks. Inspired by the leafy outlook and the right kind of music, I’ll craft your one-of-a-kind ceremony. None of the generic, cut-and-paste stuff.

You’ll get the first script draft within four weeks of our meeting.

  • Script review

I want you to be thrilled with your script. Which means you get to request as many edits and changes as you would like until you are 100% happy.

We can meet again to run through the initial draft and add further details to your plans.

I aim to have finished the script with you a minimum of one month before the ceremony takes place. That way, you get some breathing space between agreeing the script and your ceremony, and it will feel fresh and exciting on the big day.

  • Ongoing communication

I'll continue to be on hand over the phone, via email or online meeting to answer any queries or discuss any finer points in the run up to your ceremony.

We can also run a rehearsal at your venue if required/possible (optional extra).

  • On your big day

I’ll be at the venue a minimum of one hour before the start of the ceremony to say hello to you and your loved ones involved in the ceremony (human and animal), and calm any nerves.

I’ll help set up, check the finer details with your other suppliers and run a sound check. I’ll greet and guide your guests and then, with the greatest of pleasure, I’ll deliver your ceremony for you. I’ll be the one with the big book, wide smile and tissues.

After the ceremony, you’ll get a presentation copy of your script to keep.

The 2024 price is £750 for vow renewals within 30 miles of the city of Bath. Additional miles are charged at 45p per mile.

What you get from me:

  • Unlimited contact throughout the process

  • Inspiration and advice on readings, music, poems, symbolic elements, seating plans and timings

  • Help with writing your renewal vows if required

  • Coordination and cooperation with the other suppliers involved in your ceremony

  • A friendly, approachable celebrant who you get to know and trust
